The Southern Stars Stage Band is a 17-piece big band specialising in jazz and swing of the "big band" era of the 30's and 40's.  Led by Darryn Wright, this ensemble provides toe-tapping big band style music for a variety of community and private events around Melbourne.  Membership of this ensemble is made up mainly of members of the Southern Area Concert Band, with additional musicians to fill the required instrumentation.
