Southern Area Concert Band Inc.
Est. 1971
The Southern Area Concert Band is one of Victoria's premier community based ensembles.
Sponsored by the City of Kingston and based in Moorabbin, the Southern Area Concert Band family has been contributing to Melbourne's rich cultural life by providing award-winning quality music to the public since 1971.
Being a community ensemble, the Southern Area Concert Band and the Southern Area Wind Band are always seeking new musicians in all areas of the band (woodwind, brass and percussion).

Our Bands
The Southern Area Concert Band Family currently consists of three main ensembles, each having its own characteristics
Wind Band
The Wind Band provides a supportive and fun environment for beginner and returning musicians to learn and develop their ensemble and instrumental skills.
Concert Band
Our 45-piece competing concert band, comprising woodwind, brass and percussion.
Performs for a wide variety of community and private events.
Stage Band
Southern Stars - Our Stage Band is a big band specialising in a variety of Jazz, Swing and Latin music. SSSB plays throughout the year at community and private events.
